I have a Office Sharepoint Server 2007 (German version) deployed on a application server, also in the farm are two front-end-server and a databseserver, every server has the current updates. I installed the English language pack on the application and front-end-server with the following method:

1.آ*آ*آ*آ* sharepoint language pack English on app server

2.آ*آ*آ*آ* wss v3 language pack service pack 2 on app server

3.آ*آ*آ*آ* the same for both front-end-server

4.آ*آ*آ*آ* run the config wizard (first app server then front-end-server)

5.آ*آ*آ*آ* office server language pack on app server

6.آ*آ*آ*آ* office server language pack service pack 2 on app server

7.آ*آ*آ*آ* the same for both front-end-server

8.آ*آ*آ*آ* run the config wizard

after switching the language in the internet options I have still a German interface. I also run a test system (just one application server + one front-end) where I did the installation the same way, there the language pack seems to work (welcome / my site …)آ*

I found out that after a successful installation it must be possible to choose English as a language for the website collection template – this is possible. But I also read that in a table (at the moment I don’t know which one it was) there have to be the German words and English translations. I’ve checked this on test system and live system and the changes were just made in the test system database.

edit: i should tell you that i have doneآ*this already for two times...one withآ*the above discription and one with with the configuration wizard after every single installation.آ*
